The Film:  PIG. 92 min, 2021. Rated R, curse words, some violence. Rob, a truffle hunter (Nicolas Cage) living in the wilds of Oregon returns to Portland, city of his former life, in search of his beloved truffle-foraging pig after she is kidnapped. Part 1: Rustic Mushroom Tart. Part 2:  Mom's French Toast
and Deconstructed Scallops. Part 3: A Bird, a Bottle and a Salted Baguette.
Filmed with quiet grace. Endearing and haunting scenes, both brutal and raw. Captures your attention, recalibrates one's emotional barometer.

Menu:  Creamy mushroom soup, breads: optional salad.
Suggested ingredients:  2 med onions, 7 cups mushroom stems and caps, stick of butter plus extra for bread, 3TBS oil, 1 cup stock, 3 med potatoes, 5 cups hot vegie stock, salt, paprika, 1/4 cup or more chopped parsley, 2 cups instant milk. Optional salad ingredients and dressing.
